Hello all:

My name is Latoya Matthew and I am the Community Outreach & Alumni Relations Chair for CUNY BLSA for the 2008-2009 academic year. This year we plan on committing more time to community outreach and volunteer work as well as continue building a better relationship with you, our CUNY Law Alumni.

BLSA PROMOTES STUDENT SERVICE
One of the main objectives this year is to have the students from the CUNY Clinic and Concentrations provide legal education through workshops and/or presentations on various areas of the law to local community organizations and boards in the NYC metropolitan area. These workshops and/or presentations would cater to the needs of your particular community organization.

The areas of law we are able to provide services on are: Elder Law Clinic, Immigration Clinic, Battered Women’s Rights Clinic, Community Economic Development Clinic, Economic Justice Clinic, and both the Health and Equality Concentrations.

For more information on the Clinics/Concentrations listed above, please visit: http://www.law.cuny.edu/clinics.html.

If you know an organization that could benefit from this service please email us at blsa@mail.law.cuny.edu with the following information:

  1. Name of the organization
  2. Location (Bronx, Bklyn, Queens)
  3. Type of organization
